Discover the most popular park attractions in the Garda area


The southern area of Lake Garda is a major destination for those who love theme parks and spa parks. Alongside water parks and amusement parks, there are spa facilities such as the Colà di Lazise thermal spa, a haven for wellness ensconsed in nature. The most important theme parks in the area are Gardaland, Caneva Aquapark, Parco Natura Viva, Parco Cavour and the SEA LIFE Aquarium, which offer a wide variety of experiences for every member of the family. Theme parks in the area are designed to cater for all needs, offering attractions for children, high-adrenaline experiences for teenagers and entertainment areas for the whole family.

The hu Altomincio Village is conveniently located within easy reach of the main parks:  Gardaland is about 7 km away, while the Caneva Aquapark and Parco Cavour are about 10 km away. Parco Natura Viva is about 12 km away and the SEA LIFE Aquarium only 8 km distant.

This fantastic location means you can enjoy a fun-filled holiday without having to travel long distances between parks, so there is a only a short return journey to the village for some relaxation after a busy day. Don’t forget to pack a change of clothing in your backpack as its likley that you’ll get a little wet in these parks and bring comfortable shoes, a hat and sunscreen.

Gardaland

With around 3 million visitors per year, Gardaland is Italy’s most popular amusement park and one of the most important in Europe. Covering a 600,000 m² site, the park is a landmark for families and adrenaline seekers. Attractions range from thrilling roller coasters, like the Oblivion and Raptor, which attract millions of visitors every year, to Peppa Pig Land, an area completely dedicated to little children, where they can meet the characters from the famous cartoon and enjoy child-friendly adventures. Besides the rides, Gardaland also offers spectacular seasonal events, such as the Gardaland Magic Halloween and the Gardaland Christmas, which enrich the experience with special decorations and shows.

SEA LIFE Aquarium

Every year the SEA LIFE Aquarium attracts around 500,000 visitors, who are plunged into the marine world. On an area of 2,500 m² with over 100 themed pools, the park is one of Garda’s leading educational attractions. The most popular exhibits include those dedicated to seahorses, sharks and jellyfish, but there are also the interactive pools that offer direct contact with some marine animals, such as crabs and starfish. Every corner of SEA LIFE is designed to raise public awareness on the protection of marine ecosystems through information panels and interactive activities.

Caneva Aquapark

Covering an area of 120,000 m², Caneva Aquapark is one of the largest water parks in Italy, attracting over 700,000 visitors each year. The variety of slides and pools makes Caneva an ideal destination for hot summer days: the park offers both high-speed experiences, such as the Twin Peaks, and more leisurely rides such as the Lazy River, perfect for relaxing in nature. The themed Water Jump Show is an additional attraction that entertins audiences with spectacular stunts and dives. The park is suitable for all ages and also includes a kids’ area with water games designed for the younger children.

Parco Cavour

Covering 250,000 m², Parco Cavour is a green space dedicated to fun and relaxation, which welcomes around 500,000 visitors annually. In addition to swimming pools and water slides, such as Iceberg and Paradise Island, the park is surrounded by nature, with picnic and relaxation areas and a large green space that makes the experience even more enjoyable. The park is also famous for its themed attractions, such as water rides and wave pools that recreate the atmosphere of the sea, all in a setting that makes visitors feel like they are in a tropical resort.

Parco Natura Viva

Parco Natura Viva covers an area of 40 hectares and is one of Italy’s major wildlife parks. Each year it attracts around 300,000 visitors interested in discovering the world’s wildlife and participating in awareness initiatives for the conservation of species. The park is home to over 1,000 animals belonging to 250 different species, including mammals, birds and reptiles. The main attractions include the Safari, where visitors can observe animals in the wild on a car ride, and the Carnivore Trail, an educational trail that allows visitors to get close to predators such as bears and wolves. The park is characterised by its educational approach and focus on the conservation of endangered species.
